Text editor
In L'Math, the content is written in the text editor, which is usually the most visible part of the window.
In the text editor, among other things, you can
- write and edit formatted text
- add screenshots, pictures and other copied content (Ctrl+V)
- write mathematical expressions using LaTeX (Ctrl+E)
- add highlight boxes and create bookmarks
Adding images
You can add images to an L'Math worksheet from your clipboard, or from files. Simple image editing tools appear when you click an image on the page.
Adding images from clipboard
You can paste images from your clipboard with the shortcut Ctrl+V (or cmd instead of Ctrl on Mac). Please note that you cannot paste images directly from your browser (e.g. from Google Image search), as the images have to be from direct image sources, e.g. from an image editing program, or a screenshot tool.
Drag and drop image files
Alternatively, you can drag and drop an image file into L'Math. After dropping, you have to click 'Add here' in the toolbar to add the content.
Adding images from the File menu
You can also add images using the 'File' menu, by choosing 'Import...' and 'Other filetypes,,,'. Then you can choose your image file, and click on 'Add here' to import the content to the page.
Editing an image
When you click on an image, a set of image tools will appear in the toolbar. By hovering your mouse cursor on a button, a tooltip will appear.
The three first buttons change the floating of the image. You can set the image to float on the left or right, or to make it move as part of the text in the middle of words. The next three buttons change the alignment, i.e. is the top, bottom or center of the image aligned to the text.
The 'Restore size' button will restore the original size of the image, and the last 'bin' button will delete the image.
You may resize the image by dragging from the bottom left corner. Please note, that a picture can not be wider than the editor maximum width in the settings.
Formatting text and math
In the toolbar, you will find many text formatting tools. The text tools will be hidden when the math editor is in use.

Use the formatting tools to create unique looks in your notes and answers! Using colors can make your content easier to skim through. Please note that the text and highlight colors behave differently depending on the theme in use.
Tip
Is the text too small to see in the back corner of your classroom? Wait, don't change the font size. Use the zoom buttons instead, in the right side of the toolbar! This way images and formulas will also zoom in properly!
Highlight boxes
Highlight boxes are containers with a background color and a border. Use them to mark your special notes or lemmas!
Add a highlight box with the button. To add a new line inside a highlight box, you need to press the Shift key when pressing Enter, otherwise you will get a second highlight box.
When your cursor is inside a highlight box, you will see a set of highlight box tools in the toolbar. The color and border style of the box can be changed. The 'bin' button will remove any active highlight boxes.
